The Gift of Wochenbett

€280 · 4 hours of postpartum care, given as a gift.

Summary

The most meaningful gift for a new mother is rarely another blanket. It is time, care, and someone who knows how to sit with her in the tender days after birth.

The Gift of Wochenbett is a four-hour in-home postpartum visit that you can give to a friend, daughter, sister, partner, or colleague, as a baby shower present or as a welcome offering once the baby has arrived.

How it works

You purchase the gift, I send you a keepsake voucher to pass on, and the recipient contacts me directly to arrange her visit at a time that suits her recovery. No pressure to schedule in advance. The visit is hers to claim when she is ready, within twelve months of her baby's birth.

During the visit

Four hours is enough time to make a real difference. I prepare a warm, nourishing meal, offer non-urgent feeding support, and take on a few light household tasks so she can rest or nap. If she would like, we include a gentle postpartum ritual: a warm oil compress, a herbal foot bath, or simply a quiet conversation about how her birth unfolded. The shape of the visit follows her needs on the day.

What is included

  • A single four-hour in-home postpartum visit
  • A warm, nutrient-dense meal prepared in her kitchen
  • Non-urgent feeding support and gentle newborn guidance
  • A postpartum ritual of her choosing (warm oil compress, herbal bath, or reflective conversation)
  • Light household tasks so she can rest
  • Space to process her birth experience if she wishes
  • A keepsake gift voucher for the giver to pass on
  • Redeemable within twelve months of the baby's birth

Why give this

In the first weeks after birth a mother rarely asks for help, even when she needs it most. A Wochenbett gift removes that barrier. It arrives as a promise already made: that someone experienced will come, hold the space, and look after her. It is a quietly powerful thing to put into her hands.
