Walk with me

Our journey, month by month
Every journey is its own. This is the path most families meet along the way, from a positive test to the weeks after birth, and I walk it with you at your own pace, keeping it current as we go.
Beside you at every turn
You think you may be pregnant
Everything suddenly moves very quickly. There are appointments to arrange, information to understand, a gynaecologist and midwife to find, and decisions that seem to arrive all at once.
Beside you
- We make a simple first plan together, so you know what truly needs doing now and can take those first steps with confidence.
- We talk through what happens next, and where to find a gynaecologist for your care.
- I help you begin the search for a midwife early, so you can move forward with clarity and reassurance.
Through your pregnancy
As your pregnancy progresses, appointments become more frequent and decisions begin to take shape. You'll be introduced to a maternity system that may work very differently from the one you expected, with new terminology, unfamiliar routines, and choices about your care along the way.
Beside you
- Together, we'll make sense of the German maternity system, so you know what happens when, who you'll meet, and what to expect at each stage.
- We'll read your Mutterpass together and prepare for appointments, so you understand your care before you walk through the door.
- We'll talk through your options, helping you make informed decisions that feel right for you and your family.
- When questions or worries come up between appointments, you have someone who knows you, understands the system, and is only a phone call away.
As your birth approaches
Everything starts to feel more real. You'll decide where to give birth, think about your preferences for labour, prepare for your baby's arrival, and wonder what to expect when the day finally comes.
Beside you
- Together, we'll prepare a birth plan that reflects your wishes and gives you confidence to make informed decisions during labour.
- I'll help you understand how birth works in your chosen setting, whether that's a hospital, birth centre or home birth, so you know what to expect when labour begins.
- I'll prepare your partner for their role, helping them understand how they can support you and what to expect throughout labour and birth.
- We'll talk through the practicalities of birth in Germany, from when to call the hospital or midwife to what happens when you arrive, so the day feels familiar instead of uncertain.
During birth
Labour unfolds in its own time. There may be long hours, changing midwives, unexpected decisions, or a birth that takes a different path from the one you imagined.
Beside you
- I am one continuous, familiar presence throughout your labour, even as the people caring for you change.
- I can join you at home in early labour, and help you settle into your birth space, from arriving at the hospital to understanding what happens as labour progresses.
- I help you make sense of what's happening around you, explaining routines, conversations and changes in your care in clear, everyday English.
- I support you in communicating with your healthcare team, helping you ask questions, understand your options, and express your wishes with confidence.
- If your birth takes an unexpected turn, I stay beside you, helping you understand each step so you continue to feel informed, involved and at the centre of your birth.
After the birth
You're home with your baby, recovering in a body that has done something extraordinary and finding your own rhythm as a new family. These first weeks are a time of healing, learning and getting to know one another.
Beside you
- I care for you while you care for your baby, protecting your rest and creating space for your recovery.
- I support you as feeding becomes established, whether you're breastfeeding, expressing, combination feeding or bottle feeding, offering practical, non-judgemental support as you find what works for your family.
- I prepare nourishing meals, make you a cup of tea, fold the washing, tidy the kitchen and take care of the small household tasks that help lighten the mental load.
- I am there for the questions, the tears, the triumphs and the ordinary moments, offering reassurance and a calm, familiar presence as you grow into motherhood.
- When you need support beyond my role, I'll help you connect with your midwife, doctor or the right local services, so you are never doing it alone.
Doula care is not a luxury, but it can feel luxurious.

Shall we walk it together?
This is what beside you looks like.
Month by Month isn't just a guide to pregnancy in Germany. It's a way of understanding what comes next, with someone walking alongside you through every stage. As your pregnancy unfolds, so does the support, always shaped around where you are and what you need.
If this feels like the kind of care you're looking for, I'd love to hear your story and talk about how I can support you and your family.
