Preparation that meets you where you are: understand the system, prepare for birth, meet your fear honestly.
The Workshop
More than a list of what to expect.
Beautiful Birth helps you understand the system, prepare, and feel truly connected to your birth.
Many women carry a fear of birth. It is not weakness, and it is not irrational. It is often the honest response to a culture that does not prepare women well for what birth actually involves, and that does not always respect their voice, their time, or their instincts when they are most vulnerable.
I know this from my own experience. I carried fear into my second birth quietly and alone, and it shaped everything that followed. It took years of reflection, training, and working alongside other women to understand that fear unmet does not dissolve. It travels with you into the birth space.
Beautiful Birth exists to help you work through that fear, before labour begins.
This is a three-hour workshop held in my home in Potsdam. Together we get to know how the German maternity system works, prepare practically for the birth ahead, and talk openly about the fear that so often goes unspoken, so you leave feeling genuinely connected to your birth. It is small, intimate, and led by you. There is no fixed curriculum. Each session is shaped around your real questions, your specific concerns, and where you are right now.
Your Rights in the Birth Space
What is not always spoken about
There is something that does not get talked about enough: how easily the time available for decisions can compress in the birth space.
Even with the best intentions on every side, the intensity of birth and the pace of a busy ward can mean that recommendations land as instructions, that questions feel awkward to ask in the moment, and that a preference written down in pregnancy can quietly slip out of the conversation.
This is something many women describe afterwards, well-informed women included. Knowing it can happen, and having language ready to slow the moment down, is part of what changes how you show up.
You have rights in the birth space. The right to informed consent at every stage. The right to ask questions, to take time, to change your mind, and to say no. Knowing that (really knowing it, not just having read it) changes how you show up.
Part of what Beautiful Birth does is give you that knowledge and the language to use it, before you need it. So that when a moment arises in the birth space where something does not feel right, you have the steadiness and the words to hold your ground.
How We Begin
A commitment that changes the room
Every Beautiful Birth workshop opens the same way: with a shared commitment. Before anything else, we make an agreement with one another: to speak honestly and to hold what is shared in the room with care and confidentiality.
That commitment changes what becomes possible. You do not have to perform confidence you do not feel. You can bring the fear, the ambivalence, the memory of a previous birth that still sits heavily, and it will be received.
What follows is different every time, because the women in the room are different every time. The group shapes the session. That is the point.
What You Leave With
Not just informed. Ready.
There is a difference between knowing things about birth and feeling ready for it. Women who come to Beautiful Birth leave with both.
You leave with a clearer, more honest relationship with your own fears: having spoken them out loud in a room where they were taken seriously. You leave with a solid understanding of your rights in the birth space and the language to use them when it matters. You leave with established birth preferences that truly reflect what matters to you, and a clear picture of the German birth environment and what may be asked of you within it. You leave with your body and mind aligned, and a steadiness that comes not from having been told everything will be fine, but from having genuinely faced the intensity of birth.
If you join as part of the group series, you also leave with something harder to quantify but deeply valuable: connection with other women who are in the same phase of life, navigating the same questions, carrying some of the same fears. That connection does not end when the session does.
You arrive at your birth knowing yourself, trusting your instincts, and clear on your right to be heard. That is what brave looks like.
Who This Is For
You are ready for this if...
You are pregnant and carry a fear about birth, quiet or loud, that you have not found the right space to voice.
You have had a previous birth experience where your voice was not fully heard, and you want this one to be different.
You want to understand your rights in the birth space and how to use them confidently.
You want to understand how the German maternity system works, who cares for you and when, so you can make confident decisions within it.
You want to establish birth preferences that genuinely reflect your values and understand the German birth environment before you are in it.
You are navigating pregnancy far from family and want honest connection with other women in the same phase.
You want to arrive at your birth feeling like yourself: grounded, clear, and genuinely ready.
