What it is
The German maternity system, brought into focus
Being pregnant in Germany, far from home and often in a second language, can leave you holding more questions than answers. The system is thorough, but it is rarely explained, and there is not always someone to ask.
An Orientation Consultation is one unhurried hour, by video, to change that. We start from wherever you are right now, make sense of what is in front of you, and leave you clearer, with a plan you can act on.
This is for families anywhere in Germany. My hands-on, in-person doula work is rooted in Potsdam and the Berlin and Brandenburg region, but the consultation is online and for you wherever you live. It is a practical, low-commitment way to feel steady, drawing on my doula training and my own experience of navigating this system as an international mum.

A one-to-one video session at a time that works for you, evenings included. You do not need to prepare anything or arrive with a clear idea of what you need. Just come as you are.
Birth & Mother is in a gentle test phase. While we finish setting up behind the scenes, this consultation is offered at no charge as guidance and orientation.

Before any of this, every mother is welcome to a half-hour with me, by video, at no charge. It is an open door, a chance to get to know each other and see if we are a fit.
Come with a question that has been on your mind, explore the care I offer, or let me help you find your way around everything here. Whatever brought you, you are welcome to bring it.
If we find ourselves in something that needs longer, or you have your own wishes to work through that fall outside the care I offer, we can simply arrange another time to carry on. Entirely your choice, and never a condition of the first call.
A gentle note
A consultation is information and orientation, not medical advice. Your gynaecologist and midwife (Hebamme) lead your clinical care. What I bring is a clear map of the system, an understanding of your choices, and the steady presence of someone who has navigated it.
If something would be better met by a clinician or another professional, I will say so, and help you find the right person.
